Welcome to the Passport Office.
Below you will find all the information you need to apply for a passport through the Australian Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Passports are currently subject to a processing time of approximately 6 weeks from date of payment, so planning well ahead is important.

There are two types of overseas passport application forms:
Australian Passport Renewal Application- form (PC7)
To renew your passport it must:
- have expired or still be valid
- have been issued when you were aged 16 or older
- have been issued on or after 1 January 2006
- have been issued with at least 2 years' validity
- have your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender
- not be reported lost, stolen, or cancelled
- be presented when you lodge your application.
If your passport meets these requirements, you can renew your passport.
If your passport doesn’t meet these requirements, you'll need to apply for a new adult passport.
Allow at least 6 weeks from lodging your application to get your renewed passport.
When your new passport is issued, your passport number changes.
Make sure any travel bookings or visa applications use the details from your new passport.

Application for a New Australian Passport Overseas- form (PC8)
You can apply for an Australian passport if you're an Australian citizen. Not everyone who is born in Australia is a citizen. You must be able to prove your Australian citizenship.

Allow at least 6 weeks from lodging your application to get your new passport.
This is a five-page application form for all applicants who do not meet the requirements for the above renewal form, including:
All child applications
- ​First adult applications
- Adult renewal applications where the previous passport was issued prior to 2006
- Name and/or gender change applications
- Replacing an emergency or limited validity passport
- ​Replacing a lost or stolen passport

Applicants who meet one of the following MUST lodge their application in person. An appointment is required for all in-person applications.
- Applications for children aged 16 and 17
- First adult applications
- dult renewal applications where the previous passport was issued prior to 2006
- Name and/or gender change applications
- Replacing an emergency or limited validity passport
- Replacing a lost or stolen passport

Privacy Policy
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) uses third-party software (Setmore) to manage the Embassy's appointments. Your personal information (including your name and contact details) will be collected by DFAT via Setmore to book your appointment and for related purposes. By proceeding with this booking, you are consenting to the collection of this information by Setmore on DFAT's behalf for these purposes. If this information is not collected, DFAT's ability to arrange your appointment will be limited. Your personal information will be handled by Setmore in accordance with Setmore's Privacy Policy, and by DFAT in accordance with DFAT's Privacy Policy.
Sending Passport Applications by mail
It is possible to send in Adult renewal passport applications (PC7 forms) and Child renewal passport applications (PC8 forms) by mail to the Embassy. Please click here for more information.
Passport Photo Requirements - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Photo size
Your photos must be:
- 35–40 mm wide
- 45–50 mm high.
The height of your face, from your chin to your crown, must be 32–36 mm.
Photo quality
Your photos must be:
- less than 6 months old
- good quality colour prints, produced using dye sublimation (i.e. not from an inkjet printer)
- printed on heavy-weight, glossy paper (minimum 200 gsm).
They must have:
- a clear, in-focus image with no marks or red-eye
- a plain white or light grey background that contrasts with your face
- uniform lighting with appropriate brightness and contrast to show your natural skin tone
- your face centred and looking straight at the camera
- the edges of your face clearly visible.
They must not have:
- any retouching, such as removing moles, wrinkles or scars
- any shadows or reflections
- your head tilted in any direction
- your hair obscuring the edges of your face.
Anyone over 3 years old must face the camera straight on, with eyes open and a neutral expression.
For children under 3 years old, their mouth may be open. But no one else can be visible in the photo.

Facial and head accessories
In general, you should have nothing on your face or head in your photo. But there are some exceptions.
How long does it take?
You should allow approximately 6 weeks to receive a new passport.
